Jim lived his life in Norfolk, and graduated from Norview High School. He was in Naval Air Reserves, and worked the balance of his career at Newport News Shipbuilding as a pipe-fitter and welder.
Jim is survived by his mother, Audrey I. Kramer; daughter, Jennifer Faye Kramer; his long-time devoted companion, defender, and ultimate caregiver, Carolyn Ketron; brothers, Paul W. Kramer and his wife, Diane and Robert A. Kramer and his wife, Sherri; his sister, Karen Kramer Setzer and her husband, Andrew; and 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, June 24, 2011 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Jim would request donations be made to the Norfolk SPCA for his love of animals, or the charity of your choice.
