Hantford Lee Proffitt, 85, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Hantford was born in Mountain City, TN to the late Louie H. and Crathie Proffitt. Hantford was also predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Evelyn Proffitt; siblings, Dorsey Proffitt, Bertha Scott, Margaret Sue Raykawitz and Charles Proffitt; great grandchildren, Trevor L. Perry and Faith Jacobs-Mack. Hantford enjoyed a career in the construction business. Learning many trade skills throughout his lifetime he could pretty much fix anything. He tinkered around especially on cars. His skills he passed on to his family as well. Family oriented but he also put his Lord and Savior first and his family was a close second. Hantford was over a 50 year member of Azalea Garden Church of God. He is cherished in memory by his children, Regina A. Moyer and her husband, Donald; Joyce M. Miller; son, Stephen L. Proffitt and his wife, Tanya; grandchildren; Brandon L. Perry, Wesley S. Proffitt, Brittany D. Jacobs, Skylyn N. Proffitt, Kyle L. Liverman, Lance D. Liverman and great-grandchild Christian T. Jacobs, Brayden J. Jacobs-Mack, Noah M. Liverman, and Elijah L. Liverman; siblings, Rick Proffitt, Russell Proffitt, Marvin Proffitt and Coy Proffitt as well as other significant family members and friends.
There will be a graveside service conducted at 3pm, Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. There will be a visitation one hour prior at Woodlawn Funeral Home starting at 2pm. Please offer your condolences to the family during this difficult time in their lives.
