IN THE CARE OF
Woodlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens
In the early morning hours of Sunday, September 4, 2022, God sent His Angels to gently usher into His welcoming arms His faithful servant Gail Hagans Williams. Born October 7, 1946 to the late Harold and Vera Craft Hagans, she was the beloved wife of CMSgt. Edward P. Williams, USAF (Ret) of Chesapeake for fifty-four years, and the loving mother of Edward P. Williams, Jr. (Christina) of Brandon, Florida. A graduate of B. T. Washington High School in Norfolk and a former employee of DePaul Hospital, she was a devout member of the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception where she served on a communications committee.
Always eager to maintain close family relations and contacts, Gail was instrumental in cultivating and preserving family traditions. She had a kind, gentle spirit, and she trusted in God with unwavering Faith. In addition to her husband and son, Gail is survived by sisters Harriett Hagans Johnson, (Rev. Dr. Donald W. Johnson, deceased) of Lynchburg; VA, Sandra L. Hagans of Virginia Beach, VA; and brother Colonel Harold L. Hagans, Jr., U.S. Army (Ret) and wife Teresa of Lorton, VA. She is also survived by an uncle, William R. Craft (Carrie) of Bronx, NY and by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Martha M. Jones, Helen L. Edwards, Mary Staten (Harry), Sam J. Williams (Mae), and Jim E. Williams (Josephine). She was preceded in death by brother-in-law Charles H. Williams (Mary) and sister-in-law Margaret G. Williams. Numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she dearly loved also survive her.
