Edgar A. Gonzalez passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 30 2017 at the age of 80 in Lawton, Oklahoma, while visiting and arranging the funeral of his beloved brother Manuel Gonzalez who passed on Monday, August 28 2017. Edgar was born on February 28, 1937 in Ciales, Puerto Rico, to parents Jose Gonzalez Lueso from Asturias, Spain and Antonia Rodriguez of Ciales, Puerto Rico. Edgar had four brothers: Pepito, Manuel, Miguel and Wito. six sisters: Laura, Olga, Fefin, Pilar, Monin and Gladys. He came from a long line of patriots and heroes that served in the US Armed Forces from WW II into Vietnam. Edgar lived every day with Honor, Honesty and Dignity always expressing the importance of knowing family, history, values and love for one another. He loved to make people laugh, paint and write stories from the 1800s to today. He served in the US Army and lived in Virginia Beach since 1988. He was a kind loving soul loved by many. He loved his family and his 10 grandchildren: Ashton, Sadie, Alex, Gaby, Jamie, Nina, J.C., Kalib, Mason and Isabela. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Maggie Gonzalez, son Edgar M Gonzalez, daughters Laura Jackson and Monica Giron, sons-in-law Carlos Giron and Christopher Jackson, daughter-in-Law Patricia Gonzalez, brothers Luis and Miguel Gonzales, sisters: Pilar Gonzalez-Martinez, Ramona Gonzalez-Lamoso and Gladys Gonzalez-Kirschner and all family and friends that hold memories of Edgar deep in their hearts.
The family is asking that instead of flowers to make a donation to assist the family and surviving wife with funeral expenses. Edgar’s passing was very unexpected and the family had not prepared for this, therefor financial assistance would be greatly appreciated.
