Deanna Fay Phillips, 67, passed away in Norfolk on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Deanna was born in Wise County, VA to the late Wilmer and Mildred Sturgill. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who prioritized her life for her family. Deanna showed her devotion to life through her family, career and through her children as she had a big part in her children’s lives and also with their careers and hobbies. Deanna is very spiritual and devoted to her Lord and Savior. She taught Sunday school and volunteered many hours to her church and other organizations. She helped establish Michelle’s cheer gym and strongly encouraged Steven, Jr.’s love of karate which resulted in him opening his own Dojo. Deanna will always be known for her love and selfless nature, and her willingness to always lend a hand to those who need it. Deanna touched so many lives, it is impossible to name them all. She will be cherished in memory by her beloved husband of 49 years, Steven Phillips, Sr.; her two children, Steven, Jr. and his wife, Angel and Michelle; grandson, Wesley and of course her two grandpups, Millie and Kenobi.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 28, 2024 starting at 11am at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Following the services there will be a reception at Azalea Baptist Church in Norfolk. There will be a private interment at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
