Barbara Ann Anthony

Barbara was born in North Carolina on October 24, 1941 to McCoy and Dorothy Davenport. She was also predeceased by her parents and husband Melvin Vernon Anthony Sr.; son David Wayne Anthony (Becky); siblings Doris Hudson (Horace), Janice Brabble (James), and Grace Bray (Johnnie).

She was the loving mother to her son Melvin Vernon Anthony Jr. (Athena), and daughter Debbie Arnold (John). Caring sister to brothers Lawrence Frank Davenport (Ann), Hubert Davenport (Margaret), and William Davenport (Linda). Barbara was the loving grandmother to her grandchildren Devon Anthony-Burke (Chase), Stephanie Arnold, Austin Arnold, Tyler Barrett (Sarah), Annabelle Anthony, Abi Anthony, Crystal Camp, and great grandson Evan Camp.

Barbara was a proud small business owner of Port City Appliance in Hampton, Virginia. She enjoyed preparing her famous chicken salad and her delicious banana pudding. Barbara had a love for Elvis and entertaining family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday January 14, 2023 at 12:00pm in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at 11:00 am.
