Allen Dale Gessner

Allen Dale Gessner, age 70, of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at Birchwood Park Rehabilitation and Nursing.
Visitation is reserved for the family of Allen. It will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home 6329 E Virginia Beach Blvd Norfolk, VA at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Allen was born in Tabor City, North Carolina on February 9, 1953. His mother was Alice Allene (Cumber) Rouse and his stepfather was Lynn E. Gessner.
Allen worked as a master electrician at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He loved to listen to Elvis and The Beatles. He also enjoyed going fishing with his children and taking walks along the beach.
Allen is preceded in death by his brother Craig Gessner, his brother Mark Gessner, his stepfather Lynn Gessner and his mother Alice Rouse.
Allen was survived by his former wife Sheryl Gessner and their children, Jerry Gessner, Angela Ness (Carolyn Ness) and Julia Warren (Sarah Gessner, McKinsey Warren and Phillip Warren). He was survived by his brother Raymond Gessner (Kaitlynn Gessner), his sister Debra Lewis and his sister Kathyrn Gessner (Michael Gessner, Nathan Gessner and Allison Gessner).

Allen was loving, caring, hardworking, supportive and a believer of Jesus Christ. “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
