He was dearly beloved by his 8 children, and more than two dozen grandchildren, as well as great-grandchildren.
He was a dedicated husband and caregiver to his late wife Judy Smith Miller -- who were married for 67 years.
A man of many hobbies and talents -- an expert gardener, avid musician, golfer, and horseman at one time.
He was also an award-winning skeet shooter in his younger years.
He mastered everything he put his hands to.
Always a rock, H.F. was a source of sound wisdom, advice, and guidance to his family, especially his grandchildren.
A man of strong faith and member of Lifehouse Christian Church in Reserve for 17 years. He was also a choir member of Sacred Heart Church in Norco.
After 35 years of service, he retired as a maintenance foreman from Shell Oil Company in 1988.
He is survived by children Laurie Stockwell, Wendell Miller (Shigeko), Ronn Miller(Cheryl), Melinda Berteau (Dale), Andrea Mire (David), Troy Miller (Nancy), Amy Ulmer (Brad), Lindy Schroeder (Josh), along with 28 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
