Paul is survived by his wife Rosemary “Ro” (Daddona) Way, daughters Stacie Chung of Noank, Sandra (Dean Dumais) Payne of Niantic, grandson Robert James “RJ” Payne of Niantic, and a bounty of nieces and nephews in the surrounding area.
Paul’s sister, Della “Jean” Traficonda of Waterford raised him after their mother's passing when Paul was just seven. Jean was not only like a mother to him; she was his best friend until her passing in 2018.
In addition to his sister Jean, Paul is predeceased by his parents Charles G. and Ruby (Mathis) Way, of Newport Arkansas and his sister Wanda Treadway. Paul also leaves behind many relatives in Arkansas including his brother Charles (Dawn), his sisters Linda Street, Brenda (Bobby) Toddy, Della Reichelt, Elizabeth (Cortez) Aitkens and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Paul led a full life, well balanced with work and hobbies. He spent his career at Electric Boat, retiring in 1991, and followed that up with many years driving for Curtin Livery. While still at EB he, and his late wife Janet Way, started “Ways' Old Bottles” (later becoming “By The Way Antiques”). Many of Paul’s favorite stories came from times spent at antique shows and auctions.
Paul enjoyed gardening, mostly vegetables, attending bible study at Living Rock Church, and really loved being around people. He could start a conversation with anyone at any time… and always had a great story or joke to share. In that tradition, Paul's family invites relatives and friends for visitation on Sunday, December 11 from 2-4 pm. at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Lake Ave. Niantic, CT. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Paul’s honor, to the charity of your choice.
