Mrs. Burdick was born on April 1, 1935 in New London the daughter of the late Arthur and Frances Burke Filosi. She married Ronald Burdick on July 4, 1953.
Grace grew up in Niantic and attended New London High School. Her interests included music, RVing, cooking and crafts. She was a long time member of the Good Sam Club and she supported the Waterford Regional Lions club by donating her crafts. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching the games at home with her husband.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother. After her children were grown she went to work at the Groton Regency where she retired after 20 years. After retirement Grace and Ron would winter with their friends in Ocala, Florida.
Grace had the gift of being happy and looking on the brighter side of life. She will be missed greatly by her family and everyone who knew her.
Mrs. Burdick is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ronald, her two sons William R. Burdick, of New London and Allen E. Burdick of Ledyard, her three daughters Patricia T. Burdick of Niantic, Linda E. Banks of East Lyme, and Laura J. Doukas of Mystic, her four sisters Arlene Brown, Jeanette Martin, Joyce Clark all of Niantic, and Betty Gischel of PA, her Aunt Marion Ames of Norwich, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Filosi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 11:00am in St. Agnes Church, Niantic. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
