Norah (Barron) Cowburn

Passed away peacefully at Niagara Long Term Care on September 20, 2022 at the age of 95. Norah will be deeply missed by her children: Paul Durham (Olga), Cathy Lemkow (Daniel), Albert Cowburn, and Kim Evans. Loving grandmother to Aaron Lemkow (Sandra), Rachel Lemkow, Ethan Lemkow (Adriana), Landon Evans, and Aimee Durham. Norah was the much loved sister of Fred Rusk (Noella) and the late Bridie Spencer, Dennis Rusk, and Reginald Rusk. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Heather Haley and Mae Rusk along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Norah was born in Tipperary, Ireland in 1926 and moved to Cornwall, England as a young child. After the war she immigrated to Canada where she lived first in Niagara Falls before moving to British Columbia. She returned to Niagara Falls after her retirement and spent many happy years living with her dear sister and traveling companion Bridie. Norah was a wonderful cook, a voracious reader, and always seemed to have a knitting project on the go. But her favorite times were spent in the company of her many friends and loving family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Niagara Long Term Care for the wonderful care she received in her later years.

In keeping with Norah’s wishes cremation has taken place through Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel (905-354-5614). A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
