It is with profound sadness we announce the unexpected, yet peaceful, passing of Nancy in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the age of 75. Beloved wife for 56 years to Lorne. Loving mother of Christine (James) Nagy, Kevin (Tammy) Bailey and the late Heather Bailey. Proud and cherished Nana of Michael, Robert, Troy, and John. She will be remembered by her siblings Dave Canham and Brenda (Michael) Loccoco, as well as her nieces and nephews Cindy, Cheryl, Andrew, Laurie, Jen, and Eric. She will be sadly missed by her chosen family Helen (Soup Lady) and Nancy (Big Bird) Hicks. Nancy also cherished her early morning phone calls with Wilma.
Nancy loved and adored her multiple trips to Myrtle Beach with Lorne and her grandsons. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and reading in her quiet time but was known to be quite competitive when it came to board games.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Ave. Niagara Falls. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Scottlea Gospel Chapel, 500 Scott St. in St. Catharines. If desired, memorial donations to Hamilton Health Sciences – Hamilton General Site – Vascular Department would be appreciated by the family as a thanks to the many wonderful years of care they gave to her daughter Heather.
