July 15th, 1921- November 9th, 2016
With family at her side, at Millennium Trail Manor, Niagara Falls, Ontario. Welcomed with open arms, Jean is finally home with her mom and dad, Lillian and Walter Willsie, brothers Don and Bud all of St. Thomas and husband Charles Philip McManus (1966). She will be remembered with love and laughter by her children David, Susan, Judy, Sharon and Kathy. Also missed by her daughter-in-law Ludy and son-in-laws Peter Coutu, Ken Racey and Dave Felice. Beloved grandmother to 11 and great-grandmother to 12. Jean’s love of life, strong will and determination, will be fondly remembered by her Millennium Trail Manor family where she resided since 2004.
She was a proud Corporal in the Royal Canadian Air Force in the women’s division out of Sydney Nova Scotia and was a long standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 51. She worked for Canada Post throughout the Niagara Region until her retirement. She loved her country and family, found beauty in everything, was a teller of rhymes, helped others, and always fed God’s birds.
The family will receive visitors at HETHERINGTON AND DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls on Sunday November 13th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Parish, 3718 Netherby Road in Stevensville on Monday November 14th, 2016 at 11:00am. Rite of Committal following at the adjoining cemetery and a reception to follow at Betty’s Restaurant, 8921 Sodom Road, Niagara Falls. Donations to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 51or Millennium Trail Manor Recreational Fund would be appreciated by the family.
