On October 10th, 2019 at the age of 91. She was born on May 22, 1928 in Welland to Harold and Myrtle (Gilmore) Kerr. She resided in Chippawa, Ontario until the last few years of her life. Eleanor lived a full, rich life. After graduation from Stamford High School in Niagara Falls, she began her lifelong career with the Norton Company in Niagara Falls. She was a world traveler visiting Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Italy and Iceland to name just a few. She was a member of the Pilot Club, and was active in preserving the history of her beloved village of Chippawa. She was a lifelong, active member of Holy Trinity Church where in 2005 she was awarded The Order of Niagara Service Award. While never marrying, Eleanor had a large extended family. She was often at the centre of planning parties, picnics or family reunions, especially the annual Gilmore reunion Christmas party in Wainfleet.
Eleanor is predeceased by her parents Harold and Myrtle (Gilmore) Kerr.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Fraser and Marilyn Kerr. She will be greatly missed by her niece, Sandra (Ralph) Felzer and her nephews, Tom (Karen) Kerr and Alan (Nancy) Kerr. She is also survived by numerous Kerr and Gilmore Cousins whom she loved dearly.
The family will receive visitors at HETHERINGTON AND DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls, Ontario on Wed. Oct. 16th, 2019 from 10:30-11:30am.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 11:30 with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Niagara Falls.
