Ray was born on October 4, 1953, in Jersey City, NJ and raised in North Bergen, NJ. He graduated from North Bergen High School and began his career as an autobody repair technician. Ray worked for Scott’s Body & Fender Repair for many years, then began working as a driver for Goodale Pharmacy until his retirement in 2019.
A lifelong collector, Ray had a home full of treasures including Beatles, Star Trek and Superman memorabilia, each piece holding a special meaning and reflecting his sense of wonder and adventure. He enjoyed cars and doing autobody work in his spare time; he was particularly fond of Mustangs. Ray had a love of history and enjoyed studying where we came from to help navigate where we are going. He could often be found building model figurines or with his nose in a book immersed in another world entirely.
Ray was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Nicolena (Bellotti) Amorosino. He is survived by his wife, Aggie (Lis) Amorosino; his daughter, Jessica Amorosino; his brother, Kenneth Amorosino (Lori); his siblings-in-law, Linda Lis, Patricia Galofaro (Tom), Barry Lis and John Lis; his nieces, Nicole Cunneely (James), Kayla LeDonne (James), Lucia Marmo, Nancy Graziano, Tracy Beltrane (John), and Christina Balchun (Justin); as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews and other family members.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 6 pm on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ, with a Memorial Service beginning at 6 pm.
