Linda Nichols

Linda was born on April 11, 1952, in Franklin, New Jersey. She was a 1971 graduate of Newton High School. Linda lived with her mother until her mother passed away. SCARC welcomed Linda to their residential services in 1997 and Linda resided in several group homes based on her changing physical and medical needs. She moved to the Lenape group home in 2001 where she received twenty-one years of excellent care and companionship. Linda attended the SCARC Sparta Center day program for fourteen years where she enjoyed the activities and outings with staff and peers and was in the caring hands of the program’s nurses.

Linda was a breast cancer survivor who fought valiantly through many illnesses. Linda loved music, and could sing many songs by heart, her specialty being “Copa Cabana”. She enjoyed playing cards, doing word searches, and going to concerts and casinos. While at a casino, she enthusiastically stated that she wanted to “go big or go home”! Linda had a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

There will be a service for Linda on Tuesday, September 6, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home in Newton.
