Adele was born on October 3, 1956 in Newton, NJ to the late Albert and Dorothy (Westervelt) Burd. Adele grew up in Andover Township and moved to East Stroudsburg nearly 40 years ago. Prior to her retirement, Adele was an office manager for many years at various dental offices in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Adele enjoyed reading and working on family photo albums, but what she treasured most was spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.
The beloved wife to the late Howard W. Drake, III, Adele is survived by her children: Traci Hoffman and her husband, Brian, Bradley Drake and his wife, Deya, and Jeffrey Drake and his wife, Lindsay; her grandchildren: Matthew, Rachael, Nora, Gwendolen, Sophie and Everett; and her brother: Robin Burd and his wife, Barbara.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, NJ. A funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. with interment to follow at Newton Cemetery in Newton Township.
