Born in Catawba County, he was the son of Amy Fernald Cable and William David Cable Sr and brother to Holly Cable and Hope Cable. William was a member of Discovery Church in Newton and a 9th grader at Challenger Early College High School. He had a close knit family and loved his grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and extended family (it didn’t matter if you were blood or not). He is remembered well and loved by all of them.
He was everything you would want in a son, brother, friend, cousin, teammate, and person.
William was a fun-loving kid that was good at everything he put his hand, and mind, to do - whether it was athletics, academics, laughing, pranking, or just living. That boy loved to fish (it was all about Big Fish!) - nothing made him happier than being around any kind of water that had fish in it and getting to catch them with family and friends. He loved playing basketball, playing cards and he was a mean ping pong player. He was loved by many and cared deeply about his family and his friends. He was vested and “all-in” in his relationships with people. William could get along with just about anyone and people liked to be around William.
He loved to eat good food - and a lot of it! He couldn’t get enough of big steaks, quesadillas, pizza, and Chick-Fil-A. Ice cream and butter vanished around him...
While he will always be remembered for his smile and love of life, the most important thing is William was a child of God. He gave his life to Christ and we take great hope in knowing exactly where he is.
We are thankful William was loved by many. He was a wonderful person. We look forward to the day we will be reunited with Jesus and all of our loved ones in Heaven.
