Mr. Propst retired from the General Motors Chevrolet plant in Parma, Ohio where he worked as a welder in the automotive division. He enjoyed carpentry, gardening and helping his wife with her quilting. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Willard was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Pauline; their son Dennis, and brothers, Don, Charlie Hoke, Calvin, and Clinton Venson Propst.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Bogue and husband Robert of California; grandchildren, Daryl Johnson, Sarah Johnson, Kristelle Cole and Robert Cole; great-grandchildren, and Hali May Sarrault and Nicholas Sarrault.
His service will be Friday, March 31, 2023 at 2:00pm in the Chapel at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton, NC. Pastor Kenny Robinson, of Highland Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, NC.
The family will receive friends 1:00-1:45 prior to the service at Willis-Reynolds.
