She was born in Buncombe County, NC on February 26, 1925 to the late John Tinsley and Malla Burnette Carver.
In addition to her parents Nedra was preceded in death by her husband Larry Hayes; brothers, Doug and John Carver; sisters, Daphne Sipe, Christine Roxbourgh, Nina Bessey.
She is survived by her sons, Tom (Sherry) Cogger, Doug (Margaret) Cogger; daughters, Mary Ann Winebarger, and Malla (Michael) Killian; grandchildren, Shawn (Deby) Winebarger, Justin (Chrissy) Winebarger, Kevin Killian, Travis (Misty) Killian, Jarrett Killian, Jay Cogger, Robyn Cogger; great grandchildren, Kalissa Killian, Preston Killian, Knox Killian, Jessica Winebarger, Jaylen Winebarger, Lily Killian, Raelyn Winebarger, Kim Fickling, Brian Fickling, Luke Fickling, Grayson Chambers, Gabriel Chambers.
Celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Harmony Baptist Church in Conover with Pastor Arthur Mason officiating. Gathering of friends will follow the service.
