     I knew Mr. Charlie Wyant in many ways.  He was a family member, my biology teacher, principal, an income tax client, and most of all a very good friend.  Charlie was a great leader that contributed considerably to the community.  We will all miss him very much.  We will keep his family in our prayers.

A wonderful person!  Mr. Wyant was my science teacher at Foard, the chaperone for the senior trip to Washington and NY.  He attended class reunions as long as he was able.  Many good memories!

Hello, Greg my wife Evelyn Sain is across the hall from your Dad's room at Trinity Ridge. I saw you very often as I spend time with my wife daily.
I was extremely sad to find out about your Dads  passing.
He taught me Chemistry at FTF . I graduated in 64. I always have had and will continue to have upmost respect for him.

Graduated  fred t foard in 1980 when charlie was principal he was a really great man..even 20 years later i would see him out and be would be so friendly and talk ..he will be missed ..rest in peace  in the loving  arms of Jesus  now my prayers go out to his family ..god bless 

Such a caring, supportive, and encouraging educator and administrator was Charlie Wyant!   I graduated in 1965 and had the pleasure of having him as a teacher.  I returned during my years at Duke University to do a  special project on FTF and he was then principal.  

A warm memory of him, among all the encouraging words he shared with me when I was a student and a graduate, was a hand on my shoulder one sad afternoon as we gathered to celebrate the life of a fellow student who had died.  Mr. Wyant put his hands over my eyes and said "Guess who?  Someone who was a part of your younger years..."  And there he was, giving me a hug, and letting me know he still cared...after all those years.

He will live long in our memory and the impact he had on so many young lives will matter always as we pass on to future generations the respect for education he instilled in us.

Mr. Wyant was the principal at Foard when I was a student there (Class of 1987).  It wasn't until I became an educator myself that I could truly appreciate Mr. Wyant for the wonderful educator that he was. I was proud to have him as a school board member and I have never seen anyone more dedicated to students. We are lucky to have had such a caring man touching the lives of our students for almost 60 years in Catawba County. May you rest in peace, Mr. Wyant, and know that your influence will continue to touch the lives of students.

Charlie  office at Fred T was a place I didn't want to be. I graduated in 1979 but as being a teenager, I often found myself in his office intimidating at first , drill sergeant appearance. I found that he had a way of communicating and teaching not ugly or degrading  As he became a role model for me ! A man of faith, fairness and conviction, we need more principals of his abilitys which are in short supply in today's schools wow what a better world it would be ! Thanks for pushing me! RIP

Was without a doubt the person who influence my life the most in my years in school , He prompted me to go to college and try to be my best , Those who did not know him missed a real blessing!  

Mr.  Wyant  was a man with a kind  heart and  a dedicated opinion of seeing that we done the right  whether we thought it was  right or not. He always called me by my last name unless he was calling my mom to report on  something me and my cousins had managed to get ourselves into. But  what  I remember the most and always will  is when  two of  my cousins died  Robert Craig died  first and then his oldest sister Barbara Craig Ramseur  a year later .  Mr Wyant was  their to lend his support to our family. He came and  found  me  during the service to extend  his sympathy and  to say if  he could do anything just let him know. I could not have been  more proud  to call him  my principal  but also a friend. To the family know that you have the community's  love and support and no matter who took over the job at Foard  as principal  that will always be Mr Wyant's  school .  Rest Easy Mr.Wyant  because we  know you're looking  over us now like you did back then.  Class of 1978  Tiger pride.


Mr Wyant was a Boss, a Principal and Most Of All , A Friend!!! We shared lots of good times together at Fred T Foard and I realized what a good friend he had become. He always spoke and smiled, asking how you were and cared about your reply. Our school system and community will surely miss men like Charlie Wyant and Jerry Copas, they don't come any better!!!! RIP Mr Wyant, you will always be my friend......

Mr. Charlie Wyant hired me to teach business education at Fred T. Foard  High Shool back in the 80's.  I was very glad to get the job, and he proved to be a great principal.  He was always fair with teachers and students, and he set a great example for everyone to follow.  It is with great sadness that I learned of his passing.  May her rest in peace.  Sincere sympathy to  his sons and the rest of his family.

Mr Wyant  was my driver ed. teacher, and principal. He was a kind and fair man with a loving and caring attitude. Thanks Mr Wyant for helping me out with my learning of science. You will be missed. Prayers for the family.

My Dad and Mr.  Wyant went to Banoak Elementary School together.   Mr, Wyant kept me on the straight and narrow at Fred T. Foard, sometimes from his office until I graduated in 1975.  He was a a great leader that set the example for others to follow.  He will be missed but his family can be proud of all the good he did in his lifetime.  God Bless you Mr Wyant!    

Charlie was a man who walked tall. He wore his faith on his sleeve. He was at Trinity Lutheran Church ELCA  his whole life, and served on the Church Council probable more than 20+ times. He was the first in the door for worship, he taught Sunday School for many years, and served on numerous committees, and someone you could count on! He loved his wife, Mary Jane Wyant, and his three sons! He dedicated much of his energy to education, a teacher, Principle, and served on the Catawba County School Board for years. He worked in education for over 50 years.
But most of all he was a friend! I was one of his students in his early years in education.  He was firm, yet compassionate! He meant what he said, but never was pushy! He was so loved that a new Field House was dedicated this fall in his name at Fred T Foard High School!!! 


So sadden to hear of the loss of Mr. Charlie Wyant 😢.  He was a great man and respected by a lot of people.  I had the privilege of having him as my principal and most of all as my friend.  After high school Mr. Wyant would often stop by my house just to say hi and to see how things were going, this is one of the things i’ll Always remember.  I even campaigned for him when he ran for school board.   He will deeply be missed but will always have a special place in my heart.  Go rest high up on that mountain .  I’ll meet you again some day.  ❤️

I had the honor of being Charlie’s pastor for nine years. On Sundays, Charlie was most often the first to arrive and one of the last to leave.  His years of faithful service in so many different roles will be hard to match for future generations. My most consistent memory of Charlie is his comittment and integrity. He might not always have agreed with my idea or opinion, but he supported my right to present them. And he gave every effort to listen openly, and to understand how I got to that point. 
His presence is missed in many places and by many people. 
God’s blessings of peace be to all the family. And thanks be to God for the opportunity to call Charlie Wyant my parishoner and friend. 

I was saddened to hear about the death of Charlie Wyant. Charlie was a great Principal at Fred T. Foard High School and he was a kind, generous Man. he did a great job as head of my old Alumni Fred T. Foard!  Go Tigers! I am praying for the Family. I am a life long Friend of Michael Wyant who graduated with me in 1984. I know that Charlie is with our Heavenly Father now and he is feeling no pain.  Charlie Wyant and Jerry Copas were Fred T. Foard HS for many many years! RIP Charlie Wyant. I have included a picture of the FTF Tigers Championship Football Team when Mr. Wyant was Principal!
