Brenda Frances Bost Saunders passed away on October 8th, 2024. She was born in Newton, NC on January 25,1941 to the late Earl Eli Bost Jr. and Frances Sherrill Bost. In addition to her parents, Brenda was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert Daren Saunders; as well as two brothers Earl Eli Bost III and Danny Bost.
Brenda is survived by her daughters, Fran Saunders, Stacey Saunders-Gregory (Larry) both of Newton; a son, Keith Saunders (Christal) of Maiden; four grandchildren, Chasity Saunders-Miller (Aaron) of Newton; Mya Saunders-Banner (Neal) of Lincolnton; Zan Saunders (Emma) of Hickory; Cheryce Gregory of Newton; two great-grandchildren, AJ Sheppard of Newton; and Alister Gus Saunders of Hickory; one brother, Michael Bost (Diane) of Mt. View, brother-in-law Jim Saunders (Teresa) of Statesville; an honorary granddaughter, Sieara Sheppard. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Brenda was a devout Christian who loved God and was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Newton, NC. She served in many different roles in the church including a nursery worker, Sunday school teacher, youth counselor. Brenda also volunteered her time at Emmanuel Emmaus, Carolina Cross Connections, ECCCM, and several mission team trips to Alaska with Bob.
Brenda retired from Newton-Conover School system where she was a teacher assistant at Thornton Elementary for many years. Before working as a TA, she worked at Love and Care CDC.
A celebration of life for Brenda will take place at First United Methodist Church in Newton, NC, on Saturday, October 12, at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends at the church welcome center from 10:00 am to 11:00 a.m
