

Paul was born April 15 ,1939 to Paul Elsworth & Mabel Rose Travers (Callahan). He was raised in Long Beach and graduated from St Anthony High School. Paul attended Long Beach State, graduating with a degree in Business and Marketing.
In 1960, Paul married his high school sweetheart Kitty Travers (Burkart). After years of living in Santa Barbara and “the Valley,” they settled in the quiet town of Saugus in 1967. This is where they raised their five children (Patrick, Paul Jr (Jay), Jeanette, Timothy, and Karen.)
Paul worked for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco for 25 years as a salesman, along with other jobs such as a promoter for RCA Rodeos and NASCAR Races. Upon retirement from RJ Reynolds Tobacco, Paul ventured into a new career as he then went to work for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles as Business Manager at St Clare of Assisi Church. He started and ran their Lenten Fish Fry for 35 years.
Paul was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in which he proudly was a Grand Knight along with many other officer positions. He spent many years assisting with the Knights of Columbus events, golf tournaments and many breakfasts for the parish. He treasured the fellowship with his brother Knights.
In his off time, Paul’s passion was to golf and fish. Spending time with family and friends was very important to him.
Paul was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 64 Years Kitty and their children Patrick, Jeanette, (Mitch) Timothy, (Amie) and Karen, (Michael). He has seven grandchildren Mitchell (Stephanie) Van (Rebecca) Jason, Liam, Gunner, Lexi, and Zack. Four great-grandchildren Kennedy, Aubrey, Everly (Mitch and Stephanie) and Ambrose (Van and Rebecca). Coming from a large family - even though he was an only child, he has many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents (Paul and Mabel) and son Jay. He will be missed by all. We love you, Paul.
Services will be held on May 29, 2025, at St Clare of Assisi Church 19606 Calla Way, Canyon Country Ca. Rosary at 1230 pm with Mass to follow at 1 pm. Interment will be scheduled at a later date.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Shiners Hospital of L A in memory of Paul & Jay.
