Gerry Louise Brown Vogt, 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 3, 2025 in Valencia, California. She will be greatly missed but always remembered for the big love and thoughtfulness she brought into the world.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday May 17 at 2pm, at Valencia United Methodist Church, 25718 McBean Parkway, Valencia CA, 91355. Please join us in person or in spirit, and wear bright colors as she would appreciate. There is a YouTube link below to watch the service live or as a recording.
Gerry will be forever remembered by her husband of 52 years, Robert, and their loving children Eric and Kristin (Keith) and precious angel grandchildren Evan, Caleb, Emmett, Gianna, and Jacob to whom she embraced her favorite role as “Gigi”. Gerry will also be forever remembered by her darling sisters Sue (Bob) and Millie (Roger) and her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
Gerry was born in Tucson, Arizona to Evelyn and Donald Brown on September 15, 1950. She graduated from La Cañada High School and attended Christian (now Columbia) College before graduating from California State University - Long Beach. Gerry’s big and generous heart impacted us and so many as she moved over 20 times spreading love along the way. In each place, she made lasting friends - once you were on her prayer or greeting card list, you were there to stay.
Gerry was the most selfless giver. She gave incredible hugs, sent heartfelt letters, and contributed endless time to others. Gerry always had encouragement to share. Her strong faith guided countless prayers and built amazing communities. She knew heaven was her true home, and she looked forward to going home with confident hope in Christ.
Gerry loved to celebrate. Every holiday, every accomplishment, every day was truly a gift and lived to the fullest. Just a few days before her passing, Gerry threw a “potato party” for her family in the area, because every day she had with people was some kind of holiday to her. Gerry also loved finding beauty in everyone and everything. Whether through books, art, or scenic drives, she embraced the world. She coined the word LYMYKYTY-
Love You Miss You Kiss You Thank You.
Though we grieve and wanted more time with her, so many people will honor her life and extend her legacy by the ways we give to, pray for,
celebrate, encourage, and find beauty in each person and each day. Memorial donations may be given to Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Center where Gianna receives therapy horse riding lessons in Santa Barbara, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense, or the church where Eric pastors, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Lenexa Kansas.
We hope you will celebrate Gigi's life and our hope in God by living out and passing along the Gigi-shaped love that will always be her legacy. LYMYKYTY Gigi!
