Carl Dean Davis was born on April 25th, 1931 in Heavener, Oklahoma to parents Ace and Mary Davis. He was the youngest of five children, Sylvester (Veck), Zona, Robert, and LaVerne. They lead a happy and simple life but times were hard where they lived. They decided to move to Dos Palos, California seeking a better life when Carl was very young.
Carl enjoyed raising animals and loved the game of football, playing on a celebrated high school championship team that set many records. After graduating he joined the United States Air Force and was sent to Lubbock, Texas where he met the love of his life, Joyce. They married and had a daughter, Karen. After four years in the Air Force he brought his beautiful wife and daughter to California to live.
Carl always felt a calling to be of service and help others. This calling lead him to a wonderful career on the Sacramento Fire Department where he could help others in need and save lives. He loved being a firefighter and retired as a Captain after thirty years of service. He also owned a Real Estate Company for many years and liked helping families find homes. He enjoyed a lovely vacation home in Lake Tahoe where family and friends could reunite and spend fun times together making memories.
After retirement Carl and Joyce moved to Ransom Canyon, Texas and enjoyed the peaceful lakefront home they had always dreamed of. They also enjoyed many social activities with their friends at the Elks Club and were active members of the Air Stream Club traveling extensively throughout the United States.
This was Carl, a humble, grateful, family man who loved and was loved by his family and friends. He left us May 29th, 2019. He will be missed terribly by his wife Joyce, they were married 66 years. He also leaves daughter Karen and son-in-law Rigoberto, grandchildren Daniel, Angelica, Allana and her husband Jeremy as well as two great grandchildren Thomas and Oliver and his furry companion Layla. His memory and legacy will be eternal.
