Anna Mae Herran

Anna Mae was born and raised on the family farm in Barnard, Missouri. Some of her fondest memories are of working outdoors with her father and brother on the farm. She loved to ride bare back on her horse whenever and wherever she could. She enjoyed the freedom she felt when she was riding, even when it rained or snowed. She loved attending school and loved all her classes even though she constantly talked about the very tough winters when she had to walk miles in 6 feet of snow to make it to the bus stop, and then home again. She loved learning about new things and new places in the world. She attended College High School, in Marysville and the local teaching college, prior to leaving Missouri for Los Angeles, California.

In early 1942, at the young age of 20 years old, Anna Mae and two of her girlfriends left Missouri and traveled to the San Fernando Valley in California to work for the war effort. She worked for Lockheed as a defense worker. While living and working near the City of San Fernando she met her future husband, Keen. It was a whirlwind romance. She enjoyed the thrill and excitement of working all day long and then dancing all night long with Keen and still making it to work the next morning on time.

On August 11, 1947, Anna Mae and Keen were married and lived in Sun Valley. In 1949 they moved into the family home in San Fernando where they lived together for 55years. Anna Mae’s proudest moments and achievements were watching the members of her family grow up to be men and women of Honor and Integrity, while raising loving and caring families. Anna Mae will always be remembered as a Proud, Honest, Loving, Caring and Giving woman, emphasizing the importance of family and good friends. She had a passion for living and loving life to its fullest. Whether it was from simply sewing, crochet, embroidery, evening fishing to traveling to Europe, the Caribbean, and Alaska or through the Panama Canal she loved life to the fullest.

Let us raise a glass of champagne to salute Anna Mae. An Outstanding Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grand Mother, Great Grand Mother, Great Great Grand Mother, Aunt and friend, we thank you for all you have been to us, because of you we all better for knowing you. You will be remembered always by your loving family and friends; and Anna Mae you will be with us always in spirit and soul.

Anna Mae passed away quietly on July 21, at 2040 hours surrounded by many loved ones. She has now joined her Husband, Joaquin “Keen” Herran; Father, James Henry Drydale, Mother, Anna Belle (Clemens) Drydale, Sister, Mildred (Drydale) Lance and Brother, Virgil Drydale.

You will always be remembered by your loving family: Son, Joaquin James Herran and wife Cheryl; Daughter, Marion Sylvia (Herran) Trout and husband Kay; Sister, Dorothy (Drydale) Mitchell and husband Eldon; Sister-in-law, Velma Drydale; Grandsons, Michael Trout and wife Bonnie, Richard Trout and wife Linda and, Kenneth Trout and wife Cyndi; Granddaughters, Dawn Marie Herran Barnes and Wendy Shereen Herran and fiancé Don Babcock; Great Grandchildren, Christina (Trout) Magleby and husband Joe, Britney Trout, Jonathan Trout and wife Kasaundra, Brandon Trout and wife Ana, Stephen Trout and wife Lacie, Dallin Trout, Nathan Trout, Lauren Trout, Kaleen Trout, Meghan Trout, Julianna Rose Marie Barnes and Alexander James Barnes. And 11 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a very close circle of friends and extended family.
