Predeceased by his parents Pauline (Moseley) and Edward Willis. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cynthia (Heimbach) Willis; his children and their spouses, William, Jr., Bryan and Brenda (Rinck) Willis, and Erika and Keith Higgins, his grandchildren, Bill, of Tennessee, Jessica and Michelle of Newburgh, Brittani Willis and Tiffani Chase of Colorado Springs, CO, and Bryan J. of Arlington, MA, and by his 6 great grandchildren.
William worked for the Social Security Administration, and was a first violinist in Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra. He graduated from Evansville College with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. After his retirement he taught violin lessons to many bright young students and enjoyed working with bonsai trees. In recent years he collected dragon statues.
The family wishes to thank the many nurses, aides, therapists and others from Heart to Heart Hospice, Senior Helpers, Deaconess Home Health and Home Instead who gave us assistance, advice, encouragement and respite over recent months.
According to William's wishes his body will be cremated. There will be a visitation on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Alexander Newburgh Chapel to share memories with the family and each other. There will be no funeral service.
