Virginia I. Rogers, 67, of Newburgh, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011 at her home. She was born February 12, 1944, in Louisville, KY.
She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and the Delta Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Virginia was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren, including a grandson who served in Iraq as a member of the Marine Corps. She especially enjoyed the recent addition of her great granddaughter. She was a loving caregiver for her mother, Irene.
Virginia was preceded in death by her father, Hewett Slack; and brothers, Hugh and John Slack.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Howell Rogers; daughters, Geri Lynn Terry (David), Cynthia Leigh Rogers, Heather Elizabeth Rogers; grandsons, Jason Terry (Allison), Bobby, Ryan, and Nathan Bogan; granddaughter, Leighanna Bogan; great granddaughter, Rachel Terry; mother, Irene Speck; sisters, Libby Lefler, and Margie Young.
Services will be 10 AM, Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, with burial at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday 3-8 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Southern Baptist Church, Evansville, IN.
