Steve was a wonderful friend, Respiratory Therapist, one of the Best, and kindest and most gentle person I have known and worked with. I worked with Steve in the NICU at Welborn for 23 years. I knew every thing would be okay when Steve was at the Baby's bedside. He saved so many lives with his expertise. He always had a smile and was so much fun to work with. I will miss him greatly.  We lost one of the Best! My thoughts and prayers are with his Family. See you in Heaven Steve.  Diane Tomas- Lady Di. 

I knew Steve both at Welborn and St. Mary’s Hospital. I worked in the ER at St. Mary’s and he was always such a pleasant, respectful and kind co-worker. When our respiratory patients needed services from RT, he was one of several respiratory therapists that I was so happy to see come through the double doors.  I loved how calm and understanding he was with those he helped and he conveyed through his words and actions that they could feel assured he would help get them through whatever crisis they were experiencing. Rest In Peace Steve. I’ll be praying for peace and comfort for his family, friends and the many people grieving the loss of such a fine man.

I remember when Annette first met Steve it was grand. Everyone knew they were meant for one another.  One of the best things to happen to Annette and her children.

I loved working with Steve in the PICU when I was there a long time ago.. he was always there to help me being a new nurse, we had several trachs pop out on us and some funny but crazy nights together .. he got me drinking coffee with hot chocolate in it.. he was such a sweet kind person and I really enjoyed all the nights he was there to help me.. so sorry for your loss.. misty

I met Steve when I arrived as a weekend Night Chaplain at St Mary's Hospital in 2011. Whenever and wherever I was paged to in the hospital, Steve would be there. If he got there first, I knew he was praying for everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family and friends at this time of his passing. To Annette and Steve's family I am so sorry for your loss.  I send my prayers.  What a kind gentle man Steve was.  Always smiling and always so kind.   He was such a joy to work with.  You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers.  

I knew Steve during our high school days in the sixties.  He had a great since of humor and you knew he loved life.  When some of the guys were together he did his best to help keep us all out of trouble! A great guy, great memories.

I had the pleasure of working with Steve at St  Mary’s many years ago. He always had a smile and always brightened your day. I also worked with Annette for many years on Renal. We both went through divorces together and we both got remarried close together to men that God placed in our lives at the right time.  He loved life, family and was an excellent Respiratory Therapist. My heart goes out to Annette and the kids. Heaven gained an excellent Angel that will watch over us for years to come. Thoughts and prayers to all.

Steve was such a delight when he would come to 4 E during a crisis or just to stop by my desk to see if we needed anything.  He was a dedicated employee and will be missed.  Annette, my heart goes out to you especially as I loved our chats about Steve. Hugs & Prayers to you and your families.

Steve and I worked many years together caring for tiny babies in the  NICU, and children in PICU and Pediatrics on night shift. He was a great respiratory therapist and I could always rely on him especially during a crisis. He was very compassionate about his patients and the people he worked with. My mind has been flooded with so many fond memories of Steve since I learned about his passing. I have been missing him since his retirement and I’m sure all who had the opportunity to know him will.
May the Lord comfort the family during this difficult time and bring them all peace.

I worked as a nurse in the Peds ICU at Welborn Hospital with Steve. We both worked night shift. When we were not busy, we would sit around and talk and laugh. Steve was always a happy person, quick with a sense of humor.  The thing I remember most about Steve was he was damn good at his job.  When I had a sick kid and I needed Steve he was right there. He was the best!!


So sorry for your loss of this young man. Was wonderful working with him at Welborn Hospital. God Bless the family and prayers for all.

Steven ( what I always called him :) and I worked together since his early  Welborn days and Saint Mary's days too . He was a good friend and truly one of life's proverbial good guys.  I have so many memories of what a wonderful co-worker , friend and respiratory therapist Steve always was to all he encountered .  He was always eager to help in any situation . pleasant and often ,when appropriate of coarse, made us laugh .  His patients loved him ! His co-workers loved him . I went to the book Lisa made me with all my co-workers pictures and hand written notes when I retired in 2012. When I came to Steve's picture there he was smiling as I remember him and I read the sweet poignant note he wrote ...and I just cried so hard . He loved his family and talked about you all. He always told me about the  fun he and and his family had going on vacation to the fishing tournament's . "MAY ETERNAL REST  BE GRANTED TO HIM O' LORD, AND MAY PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON HIM. I worked on many different units at Welborn and frequently saw Steve. He always had a smile or a joke for anyone.  Even when I was the patient, he was always friendly and respectful. I will truly miss him. He was taken too soon and his family are in my prayers!

I met Steve while working at Welborn Hospital. Always a smile and a kind word and mayb a joke or two.  He was a great co-worker. He was serious about taking good care of his patients. He will be missed. My sympathy to his family and friends. 

I worked with Steve at Welborn. He taught me so much when I worked in the Emergency  department.  Later when I was a nursing supervisor  I was always glad to look up and see him with our trauma patients.  He treated everyone with dignity and respect.  He was an awesome guy. My first memory if Steve was when we attended Stanley Hall Elementary school together.  He was a popular guy.
I met him again when I started working at Welborn Emergency Department.   He was such an excellent Respiratory Therapist.   I learned a lot from him.
He had such a sense of humor, never mean,  just funny. He was kind and always willing to help.  He will be greatly missed.


I am sorry to hear about Steve’s death.  I have known him both as a friend and a professional colleague.  He was a great person who loved his friends and patients.  

I worked with Steve down at Welborn Hospital. He was always running up and down them halls. Always had a smile on his face, very friendly. So sorry!

Steve may you Rest In Peace . Your laughter and expertise made our patients so much better. Welborn was a better place for you being there. You were part of our family .I will miss your laughter and smile. Till later my friend ♥️

Always looked forward to Steve making rounds. Always made me laugh in the nursery at Welborn.

I worked with Steve at Welborn then we moved on to St Mary's.  He was do nice, witty, caring and passionate about his job . Enjoyed our lives passing on this journey.

I worked with Steve at St. Vincent (St. Mary’s then). He had a friendly smile and kind word for everyone he encountered, patients, family members and co-workers.
