Obituary of Michael Killebrew
Michael Killebrew, 65, of Newburgh passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021. He was born December 28, 1955 in Barstow, CA to the late Hubert and Leona (Nickell) Killebrew. Mike worked at Saint John the Baptist Parish for almost 30 years. He was involved in liturgy and music, countless funerals and weddings and was instrumental in bringing many musical guests and speakers here, including John Angotti and Steve Angrisano. He was also heavily involved in the school programs and musicals. He touched many, many people with his faith and kindness in his years at SJB. Mike retired this past December and had been immensely enjoying his retirement, traveling to see friends all around and catching up with his favorite teams. Mike especially loved his family, music (including the Castle band) and nature. He enjoyed his large flower gardens and the many birds and wildlife it brought to his yard. He loved walking on the Rivertown Trail, where he saw many friends there. He also loved baseball, including the Kansas City Royals, Minnesota Twins and anything having to do with Harmon Killebrew. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Richard Killebrew. Mike is survived by four children, Jason Killebrew (Shaunna), Michele Killebrew, Isaac Killebrew and Isaiah Killebrew; grandchildren, Kamden, Addison and Nolan; brothers, Franz Killebrew (Dolli) of Alabama and Allen Killebrew (Joan) of Smithton, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
