Marion LaDon Ransom

Marion LaDon Ransom, 78, of Newburgh, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024. She was born August 11, 1946, in Clay, KY, to the late Marion and Lois (Rich) Galbraith. Known as LaDon to most, she was preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Barry Ransom, of Newburgh; son, Lafe Ransom (Jenni) of Boonville; grandkids, Bella and William Ransom; sister, Cindy Watson (Gary) of Newburgh; and nephews, Aaron and Adam Watson. LaDon and her husband, Barry, traveled for about 15 years with their fifth-wheel camper to areas all over the West Coast and Mexico, visiting old friends and meeting new ones, staying for months at a time. She loved animals, especially stray animals. She cared for stray animals in her neighborhood and brought some into her home. During her downtime, she enjoyed a good book and shopping with her close friends. She loved good food, especially when it was shared with her close family. There will be no public service for Marion. However, family and friends of the family are encouraged to attend a Celebration of Life on September 7, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Lou Dennis Community Park Event Room in Newburgh.
