Linda Gail Fraser Johnson, 72, resident of Newburgh, died Friday, December 30, 2022 at home surrounded by family. Mrs. Johnson was a native of Maury County, TN and the daughter of Charles H. Fraser and the late Sarah Parks White Hutto.
Linda graduated from Central High School in Columbia, TN and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tennessee. Whether making her home in Columbia, Knoxville, Indianapolis, or Newburgh, Linda had a special skill of becoming a beloved and active member of the community around her. While in Indianapolis, she started a career as a Buyer for a chain of women's clothing stores before exploring her entrepreneurial side by building a successful catering company. Shortly after settling in Newburgh in 1990, she became an active member of the Newburgh Women's Club and teamed up with Janice Miller at ERA to begin her successful career in real estate. Linda enjoyed travel, especially to locations near an ocean, entertaining friends and family, spoiling her grandchildren, and trying her luck on the nickel slots. Linda loved people most of all. She mailed cards monthly to celebrate various birthdays and anniversaries and her annual Christmas card list reached into the hundreds.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Lawson White of Columbia, TN; brothers, Wayne White of Columbia, TN and Donny Felton of Westmoreland, TN.
Survivors include her father, Charles Fraser; her husband whom she married June 9, 1974, Kenny Johnson of Newburgh, IN; her children, Jeremy (Rebecca) Johnson of Wilmington, DE, and Lindsey (Josh) Early of Franklin, TN; 3 grandchildren; and brothers, Chuck (Karen) Fraser of Hewitt, TX, Tony (Cristy) White of Ethridge, TN, and Roy (Jenny) Fraser of Murfreesboro, TN. She was looking forward to welcoming her 4th grandchild in June 2023.
