John Norris Wright

John Norris Wright, 79, of Evansville passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born September 30, 1942 in Evansville to the late Edgar and Thelma (Luttrull) Wright.
He was a member of FaithWay Baptist Church and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose for 32 years. He retired from Qualex (Snap Photo) after 21 years. John enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching college football, and was a great photographer. In the late 1960’s he was the lead singer for the gospel group, The Joint Heirs. John's greatest love was his children.
John was preceded in death by grandson, Wesley Singer, and brothers, James, Charles and Patrick Slayton.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Alberta (Engler) Wright of Evansville; son, Mark Wright (Kim) of Deltona, FL; daughters, Debra Morgan (Alton, Jr.) of Evansville, Christine Samsil of Paoli, IN and Melissa Cowlin (John) of Grayslake, IL; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Slayton of Princeton, KY, and his beloved Schnauzer, Bella.
A Graveside Service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Park Lawn Cemetery Patrician Chapel. Afterward, John will be laid to rest next to his grandson, Wes.
