Barbara Sue Flowers, 85, of Newburgh, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022. She was born on December 10, 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Charles and Janet (Dubois) McConnell.
She was a member of Newburgh United Methodist Church and served as president of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary – Kapperman Post #44 in Newburgh. Barbara also served a State Post with the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She was involved in the Auxiliary Quilting Club and was a devoted Indiana Basketball fan.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles McConnell.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas Flowers; sons, Kurt Flowers and Karl Flowers (Amy); grandsons, Lee Flowers, Logan Flowers (Xiomara), Zachary Flowers (Lauren), Kyle Flowers (Katlyn), Jack Flowers (Kaylin), and Charles Flowers; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
