Alexander "Alex" J. Murphy

Alexander “Alex” Murphy, 27, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020. He was born September 22, 1993 in Kalamazoo, MI. He was a 2012 graduate of Castle High School. He was a beloved son who will be deeply missed by so many. Those who knew and loved him will remember how passionate he was about music, nature and learning. He was a voracious reader and had a huge sense of adventure in everything he did in life. Alex always wanted to share whatever he was passionate about, especially his quest for healthy eating and a strong body. He had many conversations with people about God and what his relationship and path meant to him. He was a loving father and in his words, his daughter was the “inspiration behind everything I do”. Alex was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Margaret Nagle, and aunt, Anna Murphy. He leaves behind his parents, Jenny and Keith Murphy; daughter, Aletheia Murphy; sisters, Emily Murphy (Lawal Alhassan) and Kaylee Murphy (Mason Johnson); aunts and uncles, Judy and Ken Walker, Jerry and Cindy Nagle, Kim and Mark Manning and Mike Murphy; grandparents, Bob and Barb Murphy and Gerald Nagle; cousins, Ashley McKenzie (Russ), Kendra Tomich (Nate), Rachel Nagle and Shannon Nagle, second cousins, Zach, Mea and Margaret Tomich and Judy McKenzie, and the mother of his child, Shannon Woodling. A private family service will be held.
