William P.D. Bailey

BAILEY - William Peter Devine, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2016. One of three children of the late Leslie James and Jennie Devine Bailey, he was happily married for 45 loving and wonderful years to the late Madeleine "Happie" Reilly Bailey and is survived by his son William P.R. Bailey as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Having served Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP for years with distinction, he was also a member of the Harvard Club, Century Association and other numerous clubs throughout New York City as well as being a Lector with St. Joseph's Church. A gentleman, artist, scholar and a man with the heart of gold, he was giving and generous of spirit. His expressive paintings represented his joy and love of life and he was loved by all who knew him; having dedicated his life to the pursuit of knowledge, love and happiness. Family will receive visitors Friday, November 11 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home, located at 1076 Madison Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Joseph's Church of Yorkville, November 12 at 11am, located at 404 east 87th street.
