Ryan grew up in Wilton Manors, Florida, and participated in numerous sports and extracurricular activities. He loved music, video games, and cooking. At an early age, Ryan expressed his desire to pursue law and actively competed in national and state speech, debate, and forensic competitions during high school and college.
After graduating from the University of Central Florida in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Finance, he moved to New York to attend the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University. During his legal studies, Ryan was the Senior Editor of the Moot Court Honor Society, established the Antitrust Society student organization, interned at the Federal Trade Commission, and he was a law clerk with the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York through the Alexander Fellows program. After graduating in 2021, he accepted an Excelsior Service Fellowship with the New York Department of Financial Services, where he worked on a number of critical cases.
Ryan was very social and charismatic, intelligent and driven, very giving, and a great friend to many. His infectious personality touched the lives of so many people.
Ryan leaves behind his mother Danielle and stepfather Joseph Jarmy, his father Mark Dorsett, his sister Lauren and 3 grandmothers, Anne Lawrence, Ricki Witte, and Janice Dorsett, along with many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
For Ryan’s New York family and friends, a remembrance Mass will be held on July 22nd at 11 AM at Holy Name of Jesus – St. Gregory The Great, Amsterdam Ave. and West 96th Street.
