Russell D. Bergen

Russ is survived by his mother, Denise; his aunts, Joan and Veronica; his brother, Kevin; his cousins, John, Joseph, Candice, Dorene; his niece, Gabrielle; and many more relatives through marriages in the family. He is predeceased by his aunt, Miriam. He leaves behind his three precious dogs, Abbey, Jelly, and Potato, who will all be adopted by family.

Russ was a marketing and advertising professional and so much more. He was a devoted son and nephew, a loving dog dad, and a loyal friend to have on your side. Russ was also a cook, a home decorator enthusiast, a man of fashion, and a man with the strength and fortitude to wake up everyday and live life to its fullest, especially in the face of his many health challenges.

Russ died too young, but we were fortunate to have had him in our lives for the last seven years because of a kidney transplant by his mother, the only person in the family who was a match for him.

We will all miss Russell and wish to honor his final arrangements as he requested.

A visitation for Russell will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Walter B. Cooke Funeral Home, 352 East 87th Street, New York, NY 10128. Following the visitation will be a funeral mass from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Holy Name of Jesus and St. Gregory the Great Parish, 207 W 96th St, New York, NY 10025.
