Loretta Ann Prosser (Scheer) was born on December 1st, 1963 in Brooklyn, to Anna and Charles Scheer. Raised in Queens, Loretta then attended Dominican Academy and Connecticut College graduating with a degree in Art History. Following her love of the arts and theater, she took her first job at the Circle Repertory Company as the marketing director, before working at her family's company, Prime Automotive Parts Inc. until its sale in 2007. Loretta married Simon Prosser on September 29, 1989, before having two sons, Andrew and James, of whom she was eternally proud. Forever in pursuit of remaining busy, Loretta headed the registration and volunteer committees at AYSO's West Side Soccer League. After her retirement, she volunteered almost every day at MOMA and the Met where she delighted in introducing school groups to the museums and ultimately served as the Met VX chair. Loretta passed peacefully in her sleep in the morning of March 12th and is survived by her husband and sons. Donations can be made in her name to the Met, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, or the ACLU.
