John McNamee

Jay McNamee passed away peacefully Saturday, February 2, 2019 surrounded by family and friends following a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on May 7, 1959 to John (predeceased) and Kay McNamee in New York City. He was the beloved husband of Marie and loving father to his two children Sean and Shannon. Beloved brother-in-law, cousin, “Uncle Jay” to many, and a friend to countless, he was always there for all.

Jay was a dedicated union man his whole career, most recently as a set-dresser for IATSE Local 52 proudly working on the TV series, Gotham. Former restaurant owner, DJ, high school basketball coach, event planner, Jay lived life to the fullest and wanted all around him to enjoy life as well.

While family and friends mourn his loss, they ask all to celebrate his life and pay kindness forward.

Visitation Thursday, February 7th, 2019 from 2-4 pm and 5-8 pm at Frank E. Campbell The Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Ave., NYC. Funeral Mass Friday, February 8th, 2019 at 10am at St. Ignatius Loyola Church 980 Park Ave., NYC.
