Joanne Raia

Joanne Raia died on November 18, 2014. Belovedmother of Deborah Plumer (Ron), Christopher Alvarez (Michelle), and Lisa Alvarez. Dearest grandmother, sister, godmother and leaves a host of many friends to miss her.

Joanne was born January 18, 1947 to Marion and Charles Albano. She was a longtime resident of the Yorkville Section of New York City, where she was very active with Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. She was the Fund Manager of Union Local 30 for 20+ years. Joanne acted as the neighborhood "Mom" and was extremely involved in her neighborhood. She was known and loved by many and will be missed by all.

Visitation will be Friday, November 21, 2014 from 2PM-5PM & 7PM-9PM at the Chas. Peter Nagel Funeral Directors, 352 East 87th Street, NY,NY 10128 (located between 1st & 2nd Avenues), 212-289-2221.

Funeral Services will be Saturday November 22, 2014, 10AM, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 230 East 90th Street, NY,NY (located between 3rd & 2nd Ave.) The family has asked that everyone meet at the Church on Saturday Morning.

Interment will follow the mass at the Calvary Cemetery in Maspeth, Queens, NY.
