It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on June 2, 2017 of Carol O'Connor. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Patrick, her sister Rosemarie and brother-in-law Wally. She is also mourned by her nieces and nephew Amy, Mike and Kate, whose children, Grayson, Lila Mae, Jasmine, Sofia and Naomi, loved their Aunt Carol as a grandmother.
Born Carol Ann Pessenhofer, she lived in Yorkville all her life and was known affectionately to generations of students in the neighborhood as "Miss Carol". Through her years of faithful service as a teacher and a life spent caring for everyone around her, she leaves a legacy of love and generosity of spirit that will continue to live in the hearts of all whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you make a donation in her name to the St. Francis Breadline, or perform a small act of kindness for someone in your life today.
