Ruth (Mickey) Angela, was born on August 9, 1929 in New York City. Ruth, one of eleven children, was the daughter of the late James and Ruth Quinn. She was born and lived in New York City most of her life. She was baptized and christened at St. Elizabeth’s Church. She married Donald Anthony Angela on July 24, 1954 at St. Sebastian Church. Together, they had 5 children that they raised in Middle Village, New York.
At the age of 13, Ruth and her mother joined the war effort and worked in a munitions factory in Harrison, New Jersey. Later at the age of 18, she began working as file clerk and secretary in an office in midtown Manhattan.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to dance, play bingo and solve Cryptograms & Sudoku. She was a very sweet person and was loved by all. She always lit up a room with her pretty smile. She’s best known for her unique and patriotic blouses.
Ruth was a tireless mother who was devoted to raising her family and instilled them with strong morals. She was very active in her children’s education and after school activities. She attended hundreds of Little League Baseball and Pee Wee Football games. She was also a proud member of the P.T.A. Early on Ruth loved to play catch with her kids and later in life she was an avid golfer and terrific bowler.
In 1990, Ruth and Donald moved to New Port Richey, Florida and lived in Trouble Creek Villas.
Ruth, 85, passed away on July 17, 2015 at Medical Center of Trinity in Florida. Ruth leaves behind her beloved husband of 61 years, Donald, and her 5 children, Theresa, Donald, Christopher, Virginia, and Alane, along with 5 grandchildren, Thomas, Jason, Ryan, Kaitlyn and Sarah. She is survived by 3 of her siblings, Lillian, Patricia and James.
Ruth had the magical and uncanny ability to make those around her feel better instantly. She was generous to a fault and always gave more than she received. She was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
