Gloria Jones

Gloria D. Jones, 84 of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12 surrounded by her loving family. Gloria was born December 21, 1938 to the late Alphonse and Gilda Nepa in Wellsburg, WV. Gloria married the late Leonard C. Jones on July 23, 1960 in Paden City, WV. They spent 56 wonderful years together raising two daughters and making many friends along the way.

Gloria graduated in 1959 from Ohio Valley School of Nursing with a degree in nursing. She was an RN for over 50 years and was passionate about her career and caring for people. If you ask people to describe her, the common theme is that she first and foremost loved God, her family, church family, career and, of course, her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. She was a funny, caring and kind person, always putting everyone else’s needs before her own.

Gloria was preceded in death by her sisters, Rose Mary (Floyd) Berdine, Ruth Ann Bee, Gilda Cleaver and her grandson Justin Nesselroad. She is survived by her brother, Alphonse John (Anonda) Nepa, brothers-in-law Ben Bee, Ralph (Antoinette) Jones, daughters Diane (Larry) Wylie, Janet (John) Graden, grandchildren Lanette (Greg) Clark, David (Marcella) Woofter, Colleen Nesselroad, and Jimmy (Angela) Nesselroad, Alexander and Christopher Graden, along with 8 great grandchildren, Brody, Mason, Elaina, and Ariella Clark, Nicolette Woofter, Eli and Haley Nesselroad, and Cooper Nesselroad. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held to honor her life on Friday, January 20 at 11:00AM at River Road Church of Christ, 6767 River Road, Port Richey, FL 34652. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veterans of America.
