Freeda (Ethel) Lynch, aged 88, passed from this life to be with the Lord on September 29, 2024, in Tarpon Springs, Florida. She is survived by her son, Stephen Lynch and his wife Deirdre; daughter, Helene McBride and her husband Joseph; daughter-in-law, Maureen Lynch; seven grandchildren, Jack, Kate, Nicole, Molly, Michael, Madeline, and Ryan; and one great-grandchild, James. Freeda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-five years, John Lynch; her son, Thomas Lynch; and her three siblings, Peter, Paula, and James.
Born March 31, 1936, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Ethel was a proud alumna of Lynn Classical High School, developing a foundation that supported her throughout her life. Her true vocation in life was her family, whom she nurtured with love and dedication as a loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother.
Ethel lived a remarkable life from humble beginnings in the depression era to be able to live/travel throughout the country and the world. Her life was one of vibrant engagement with the world through her many travels and journeys that brought her much happiness, whether it be a simple drive in the country or a glorious trip to her homeland of Greece, allowing her to connect with people from all walks of life. Settling in Florida in her golden years, her fondness for the the joyous camaraderie of her bingo outings or surfing her social media became her new passions to connect with others.
While Ethel’s presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the memories of her loved ones and the many lives she touched.
Services for Ethel will be held on Saturday, October 5th with visitation 12:00 PM at Meadowlawn Funeral Home, New Port Richey, FL; funeral services at 1:30 PM Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Tarpon Springs, FL; committal services to immediately follow at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens, New Port Richey, FL; with reception following at Meadowlawn Funeral Home.
A visitation for Freeda will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 36 N Pinellas Ave, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689. A graveside service will occur Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM, 4244 Madison St, New Port Richey, FL 34652.
