Thomas L. Alfano, Jr. passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the age of 73 in Gulfport, Mississippi. Born in New Orleans to Maxine M. and Thomas L. Alfano, Sr., he graduated from Cor Jesu High School, class of '62. He went on to follow in his father's footsteps, learning and mastering watchmaking. Thomas was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and in the Scottish Rite. He was a deputy sheriff in Jefferson Parrish, LA and Shelby County, AL. He was a watchmaker, jewelry maker, barber, and pawnbroker; as well as an avid sportsman, hunter and fisherman. He loved blazing his own trail. Thomas was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence Thomas Alfano and Adelene Corte Alfano; his father, Thomas Lawrence Alfano, Sr.; and his brother, Frank Thomas Alfano. He is survived by his mother, Maxine May Federoff Alfano; his sister, Adelene Ann Alfano (Lucille P. Gasecki); his children, Andrew T. Alfano, Lawrence T. Alfano (Kemma), Laurie A. Kramer, Mary K. Jones (David), Natalie A. Alfano, Kimberly A. Sartor (Angelo), Deidra L. Luquette-Famularo (Felix); 13 grandchildren; his nephew Frank T. Alfano, Jr.; his nieces Chanell Costa (Garrin, Sr.), Bridget Cabibi-Wilkin (Daryn); many cousins; and their families. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, beginning at 1:00pm at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans, Louisiana.
