Terry J. Gagliano passed on May 12, 2016, aged 71. He will be greatly missed by his wife Cindy M. Gagliano (married 48 years), son Troy Gagliano, daughter-in-law Linea Carlson Gagliano and grandsons Cohen and Torin Gagliano. Terry was a true New Orlenian wherever he went. His countless cousins, friends and business associates will always remember his infections smile, joyous attitude, tight embrace and big Sicilian kisses. He grew up in Gentilly where he and Cindy owned the GEM Supermarket with his father Joseph Gagliano and mother Catherine Gagliano. They turned this neighborhood store into a boiled seafood powerhouse and in 1977 Terry was King of the Krewe of Hercules. He was a decades-long LSU football season ticket holder and he followed the team to all corners of the U.S. As an avid enthusiast of Louisiana festivals, he embodied the deeply rooted, celebratory nature that represents the essence of our native spirit. "The Senator" was also a beloved member of the tightknit Hard Rock Café family and was often seen holding court at various events and concerts. His family was his life and he will continue to be an example to others who were blessed to know him. His "crème de menthe toasts" were an often requested staple at family weddings and today we raise a toast to him in thanks for his many contributions. Services will be held Monday, May 16, 2016 at Lake Lawn Funeral Home located at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans. A mass will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a celebration of his life from 11:00 to 1:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the Children's Hospital Cardiac Unit located at 200 Henry Clay Ave., New Orleans, LA 70118.
