Stephen "Steve" T. Walsh, Jr.

He was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on August 27, 1957 to Elsie Joyce Skinner Walsh and Stephen T. Walsh, Sr.

Steve graduated from Clairton High School and Penn State University. He went on to develop a 43 year career as a petroleum engineer with the Department of the Interior at B.E.S.E.E.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Susan Mercante Walsh; sons, Ian T. Walsh and Corey L. Walsh; sisters-in-law, Karen Mercante and Dr. Denise Danna; brother-in-law, Donald Mercante and his wife Teresita Mercante; several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; father and mother-in-law, Ignatius and Shirley Mercante

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie Joyce Skinner Walsh, Stephen T. Walsh, Sr. Ignatius D. Mercante, and Shirley L. Mercante.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to their family members who supported them during this time and showed so much love and respect for Steve.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass officiated by Rev. Robert T. Cooper at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 1 PM. The public visitation will begin at 11 AM. Graveside services will be held privately for immediate family only.
