Sharon is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dr. John Joseph Colomb III; children Keri Colomb Korejo (Murad), Amanda Susan Colomb Katz (Brian), and Mark Joseph Colomb (Caroline); grandchildren Soaleh Thomas, Simon Joseph, and Marion Maura Korejo; Jackson Douglas, Raleigh Oscar, and Violet Susan Katz; Camille Jillian and Reese Drury Colomb.
She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas M. Drury and Marion Muhs Drury; siblings Thomas Drury, Jr., Susan Drury, and Carolyn Drury Vallejo.
Sharon graduated from St. Mary's Dominican High School, received her undergraduate degree from University of Louisiana Lafayette, and her Master’s Degree in Education from University of New Orleans.
She was a special education teacher for seven years in the greater New Orleans area until she retired to raise her family. After her children had grown, Sharon often volunteered and was a substitute teacher at St. Michael Special School. Her passions included planning cross country road trips, working in her garden, and embracing being a lifelong learner. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00am. Visitation will begin at 9:00am.
