Born on August 24, 1938, Bob grew up in New Orleans and attended St. Dominic School and was a decorated Eagle Scout. He was an honors graduate of Jesuit High School (1956), Loyola Business School (1959), and Loyola Law School (1962) and then he received a Masters of Law from Tulane University (1991). Bob was a United States Army Captain, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, and US Army Commendation Medal recipient.
Bob was the founding president and lifelong board member of New Orleans and Louisiana Right to Life and founding board member of National Right to Life. Beginning in 1973 and until shortly before his death, Bob either personally drafted or had a primary role in drafting all prolife legislation in the Louisiana State Legislature. He also served as a board member of the Catholic Foundation of New Orleans and New Life Pregnancy Counseling Service. Bob was appointed Special Assistant Louisiana Attorney General for defense of Louisiana prolife legislation and adoption law. Bob’s leadership was critical in making Louisiana a leader in the prolife movement. In faith, we know that Bob has been welcomed into heaven, especially by the millions of unborn babies whose lives he dedicated his life to saving.
Bob practiced products liability and litigation law as a partner of Sessions Fishman from 1970-2004 and of counsel until his retirement. In 1994, Bob received the Loyola University Adjutor Hominum Award as Outstanding Alumnus, which is given to a graduate whose life exemplifies the values and philosophy of Jesuit education—namely moral character, service to humanity, and unquestionable integrity. This is the highest award bestowed by the Alumni Association.
He was a board member and president of the Lakeshore Properties Owners’ Association, member of Metairie Country Club, Bienville Club, Beau Chene Country Club, Loyola’s Four Fins Social Club, SAK fraternity alumni group, and a member of the Krewes of Endymion and Orpheus.

He was firm in his convictions and fought for his beliefs. Bob’s legacy will live on as each of us stives to continue his life’s work of bringing an end to abortion and protecting every innocent life.
In his free time, Bob loved learning about history, was an avid reader, and loved to travel. He was a devoted Saints and LSU fan. His favorite and most cherished times were being with family and friends.
